Good afternoon Colleagues,
Hope
that you are doing great! I am pleased to have the opportunity to introduce and
share information on the National Council for Emergency Management and Homeland
Security (NCEMHS) organization today. We have a variety of new and exciting
emergency management, homeland security, cybersecurity, and campus
preparedness/school safety programs and initiatives forthcoming. For example, we
look forward to the completion and implementation of a state-wide career pathway
in these critical subjects areas in California at all levels of education in
place shortly. Additionally, we look forward to shifting our growth and
emphasis towards the enhanced preparedness and increased readiness of national
and international key partners and major stakeholders in the coming days.
The organizational overview, vision, and mission
statements are found at: http://ncemhs.blogspot.com/ 2016/09/ncemhs-overview- vision-statement.html
We
are putting out a Call to Serve for NCEMHS Policy and Subject Matter Experts
(SMEs) across many areas of expertise within the scope of the EM-HS-Cyber enterprise
corresponding to organizational member interests and activities. SMEs will
serve as the backbone of our activities as we collaborate and partner with the
public, private, and non-government organizations (NGOs) on education,
workforce development, research, community engagement projects and programs at
the local, state, national, and international levels. Groups of SMEs will be formed
into smaller workgroups to undertake specific initiatives and projects. If you
are interested in serving in one (or more of these areas) please submit a cover
letter and curriculum vitae expressing your interests within the next 30 days and
we will start pulling everyone together into specific areas of expertise. SME
groups are found at: http://ncemhs.blogspot.com/ 2016/09/ncemhs-policy-and- subject-matter-expert.html
Finally,
we are beginning the planning process for our Global Emergency Management, Homeland/Cyber Security Symposium to
be held on the West Coast early in the Summer of 2016. So please keep your eyes
out for a variety of opportunities and events coming your way in the very near
future. Thank you very much and please let me know if you have any questions
and/or would like to know how to get more involved with NCEMHS and EM-HS-Cyber
education an academic program development, research, and community engagement.
Best regards, Keith
